      Choosing A College Major

      By Jean Scott

One of your most important tasks at the beginning of college is to choose a subject that you will major in. This decision is not as difficult as it may seem, especially if you take a careful look at your interests, aptitude and future career goals. If you are still undecided about your college major then consider using my step-by-step guide that is described below.

The first step is to consider your strong points. What do you do well? It makes sense to concentrate on fields where you have already demonstrated some ability, rather than to branch out into subjects where you may not do very well. For example, if you had good grades in high school science courses, then why not continue with a major in a scientific subject in college? Or on the other hand, if your best high school subjects were in languages and social studies, then it might be wise to major in one of the social sciences. So, take a look back on your high school career, and consider majoring in one of your strong subjects.

Do you know what you want to do when you finish college? If so then this career objective or future plan of action can guide you in choosing a major. For example, if you want to be a kindergarten teacher, then an education major makes the most sense. Or if you want to go to law school then a major in any of a number of social sciences would be useful.

In case you are not really sure about what you want to do after college, then it makes sense to choose a major that will give you some flexibility. For example, if you major in economics you will be well placed for careers in the broad sphere of business. A major in English or a foreign language could also prove useful in several careers or as a way to enter post-graduate studies. So if you haven't figured out what you want to do next, select a major that will give you maximum flexibility.

Perhaps the best indicator of what your major should be is simply to look at where your greatest interests lie. What are you passionate about? If you are crazy about science, then continue in that direction and choose a scientific major. If you dream of living abroad, then major in a language of the country of your dreams.

Finally, make a test of the various subjects. You probably will not have to declare your major until the end of the second year, so in the first year and half take a few courses in the subjects that you are considering as a possible major. You may be surprised and find out that courses in some subjects are not as interesting as you had expected. Based on your experience with a few elective courses, then you will be in a better position to choose your major.

The best way to choose your major is the break down the task by carefully assessing your academic strengths, career objectives and basic interests. Then choose some electives and see how well you do. Based on this, you will be in a good position to choose a major that is just right for you

      Success Through Determination

Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France so many times, despite the bitterness of the French press that tried to discredit him time and again, that it astonishes us. He rose from cancer victim to cancer conqueror to cycling victor. He had the singular mindset that cancer would not beat him. At times he fell behind other cyclists in different stages of the races. Reportedly, falling behind was on purpose so he could conserve his strength for more difficult stages. Other times, it was because someone, perhaps a sprinter, put on a burst of speed and outdid him. Whatever, he kept himself from being discouraged, figured out how he could have done better, and charged forth again with victory in mind.

He was determined.

We say that because if he were a good husband, he would have worked on preserving his marriage, and wouldn't have a bevy of "relationships" behind him. His legitimate children would still have a full time father, and his other children wouldn't have to carry the stigma of illegitimacy around with them all of their lives.

Perhaps the fact that he was an illegitimate child, himself, that his birth father left him and his mother, and that his mother had married and divorced three times, had something to do with his attitude toward relationships Or perhaps it was his lack of faith as an agnostic. He is quoted as saying: At the end of the day, if there was indeed some body or presence standing there to judge me, I hoped I would be judged on whether I had lived a true life...

He wants to live a true life, but he abandons those who love him. Yes, he was true to cycling. No, he wasn't true in his personal life. Or so it seems. However, since we don't know the man personally, it could be that he would have been true had his wives been true. We don't know who was at fault, but if he is like the majority of men, and especially since he had to be gone much of the time to pursue his career, it is likely that he didn't meet his wives' and girlfriends' emotional needs - essential for women.

Every marriage should strive to reach the arte level, the Greek word for excellence. "We have already achieved it" says the newlywed who is still starry-eyed and the truth hasn't hit the fan yet. "We're doing fine," says the husband who isn't meeting his wife's emotional needs. "I gave up trying," says the wife who has given up hope.

That's what our Love Relationship System is all about - showing couples how to reach that level of arte or close to it so that their marriages will stay strong and secure.

By doing that you can do him one better and preserve your own marriage and give your children parents that raise them to be solid, secure and trustworthy adults. We give you the tools and the keys for doing just that atwww.loverelationshipheadquarters.com: separate tools both for men and for women. Come join us now for a sparkling future in your marriage.

Be Alert To The Symptoms Of Male Menopause

      By: Kim Allarie

Male menopause is the period in a man's life when his hormone levels start to fall. Irritability, restlessness, loss of libido, sweating, anxiety, depression, memory loss and ED are just some of the male menopause symptoms. Though other health disorders can cause ED, testosterone deficiency is a strong factor that can affect it.

Menopause in women involves the stopping of a bodily operation, such as when monthly menstruation no longer occurs. Along with menopause, women also experience a critical drop in hormone levels. Men's testosterone levels drop as they age. Male menopause symptoms are normally linked to this.

For men with low testosterone levels and male menopause symptoms, the recommended treatment is hormone replacement theory. Unless they have unusually low androgen levels, hormone replacement will not work for older men with ED. Nominal doses of testosterone in young men with a hormone deficiency have been proven to improve libido.

Male menopause symptoms can be greatly reduced with the help of testosterone replacement therapy. Because testosterone deficiency is typically permanent, treatment must take place for the rest of the patient's life. Oral prescriptions, implants, and injections are all common methods for testosterone replacement therapy. Patients typically undergo semiweekly injections of testosterone. If shots are an issue one can receive drugs orally.

The testosterone implants generally embedded beneath the buttock or abdomen skin function for a number of months. What the implant will do is deliver testosterone into the blood without any additional actions or drugs being taken.

It has to be said though that there are some negative reactions associated with androgen therapy. As testosterone levels decrease, there is shrinkage in the prostate gland. But, hormone replacement therapy won't be able to make it big again. The risk of prostate cancer for those with naturally higher testosterone levels may be increased by androgen therapy.

Not enough is known yet about the long term health effects of male hormone replacement therapy. The effects of androgen therapy on muscle and bone remain unclear.

Anecdotal evidence suggests that androgen therapy might boost the risk of heart disease, but the scientific evidence is unclear. Many persons who have suffered heart attacks are found to have low testosterone levels. It's possible that taking extra testosterone might help prevent cardiovascular difficulties in middle aged and older men, along with addressing their male menopause symptoms.

Tips To Ace Your College Exams

If you would like to get high grades regularly, you are not alone. Everybody would like to get aces on all their exams, but few students manage to do it. The successful ones do not have great secrets up their sleeves, but are able to work in a systematic way that brings them good results, time and again. If you would like to learn how to work in a methodical way that will bring you academic success in Choosing a college, then pay attention to the tips provided in this article.

The first step in doing well on your exams is to keep up with your reading assignments on a regular basis. A lot of students like to leave everything to the last minute and then do intense cramming in the last few days before the exam. This can work "theoretically" but the reality is that you cannot absorb all the information at the last minute. You will be in a much better position to do well on your exams if you read the required books as they are assigned to you.

Another important tip is to attend all the classes and lectures and personally take good notes. Rather than copy someone else's note, be on hand at the lectures and take your own notes. If you do not attend and just copy the notes of others you may miss important information and may not grasp the context in which the notes were written.

A crucial element to getting top grades on any exam is simply to find out what will be covered on the test. If you have any doubts ask your professor or instructor and find out what reading assignments will be included in the test material and any other details about the scope of the test. Once you know what the test is all about you can concentrate your study efforts accordingly.

If you have done your reading assignments regularly, taken good notes, and know what the test will cover then the next step is simply to review the material thoroughly the day before the test. Focus on the main points of the class notes and skim through the books that you were supposed to read. If you have time, go through all of the material two or three times and then get a good night's sleep.

The final tip is just to show for the test with a positive and alert mind and a well rested body. If you are alert and confident when you take a test you are very likely to work to the best of your capacity and also to follow the instructions of the test carefully. Errors in procedure can be costly so it is always important to be alert and also not to panic in case some of the questions are very difficult. In case you are unsure about the instructions for taking the test, always ask the instructor for clarification.

Getting high marks on a consistent basis is not as hard as it looks. If you follow the simple tips that I have outlined in this article you will be well on your way to "ace" your next exam.
